The Yellow Jackets (7-1, 4-1 ODAC) held the Generals (5-3, 4-1 ODAC) to a season-low 10 points and created a tie for first in the conference standings

R-MC held an 18-3 lead in the fourth quarter before Will Dyson of W&L picked off a pass and returned it 72 yards for a touchdown to make it 18-10 with 8:59 left in regulation. The Yellow Jackets took the kickoff and drove to the W&L 29 before being stopped on fourth down with 3:34 remaining.

The Generals converted a fourth-and-one and had a first down on the R-MC 11. W&L quarterback Charlie Nelson scrambled to his left and threw the ball into the end zone, where Silva picked it off with 1:14 left to preserve the victory.

The R-MC defense held W&L to 213 yards on the ground, more than 200 yards below their Division III-leading total of 427.3 rushing yards per game. The Yellow Jackets held the Generals to 2 of 11 on third down and held the advantage in time of possession, 33:06 to 26:54. R-MC had the ball for nearly 12 minutes in the final period.

Frederick went over 200 yards for the second time this season. He increased his season total to 1,118 rushing yards.

The R-MC defense held W&L without a first down on its initial possession and took over on its own 33 following a punt. The Yellow Jackets rushed 10 times and moved to the W&L 3. A 21-yard field goal by Yurgel gave R-MC a 3-0 lead with 7:57 left in the first period. Frederick had seven carries on the drive for 57 yards.

W&L moved to the R-MC 26 on its next possession and used a 43-yard field goal to level the score at 3-3 with 2:48 left in the first quarter.

On the ensuing kickoff, the Yellow Jackets took over on their own 18. R-MC put together an 82-yard scoring drive in 10 plays, as sophomore Joseph Vairo (Coral Springs, Fla./Westminster) hit junior Willie Schaub (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) on a five-yard scoring strike to give the visitors a 10-3 advantage with 13:20 remaining in the second quarter.

Senior Eric Long (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) forced a fumble by the Generals midway through the second period and senior Tom Buchanan (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) recovered and moved the ball to the W&L 22. A penalty thwarted the drive and Yurgel nailed a 44-yard field goal to extend the R-MC lead to 13-3 with 5:48 left in the first half.

After both teams went scoreless in the third period, senior Logan O'Neill (Lorton, Va./South County) stripped Nelson in the end zone and an offensive lineman fell on the ball for a safety, giving the Yellow Jackets an 18-3 lead with 12:33 remaining.

Long led the R-MC defense with 13 tackles, including two tackles for loss. He also forced a fumble. Senior Michael Farry (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) added eight tackles. The Yellow Jacket defense had seven tackles for loss (minus-27 yards) and a pair of quarterback sacks.
