Matt Tschetter is in his third season as an assistant coach for the R-MC football team in 2017. He will be the Defensive Run Game Coordinator and Co-Defensive Coordinator for a second year after working with the defensive line and overseeing R-MC's special teams in 2015.
In 2014, Tschetter was a defensive line coach at his alma mater, Wartburg College, in Waverly, Iowa. The Knights went 12-1, including 10-0 during the regular season. Wartburg hosted a pair of NCAA playoff games, defeating St. Thomas 37-31 and St. John’s 21-10, before falling 37-33 on the road to eventual national champion Wisconsin-Whitewater in the quarterfinals. The Knights held their opponents to less than 15 points per game and were ranked No. 4 in the nation in the final AFCA and D3football.com polls.
From 2012-14, Tschetter was a graduate assistant football coach at Wisconsin-Platteville. He worked with the outside linebackers. He was responsible for organizing and running position meetings as well as position-specific drills during practice. The Pioneers reached the second round of the NCAA playoffs.
During his playing days, Tschetter was a Third Team All-American defensive lineman. He was a two-time first team All-Iowa Conference selection and helped Wartburg win a pair of conference titles. The Knights went 34-10 during his four-year career.
A native of Milford, Iowa, Tschetter earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fitness Management with a minor in Business from Wartburg in 2012. He received a Master of Science degree in Education from Wisconsin-Platteville in 2014.
