ASHLAND, VA -- Lindsey Leonard and Shelly Milks netted two goals in the second half for the Hornets in their 2-0 victory over the Yellow Jackets. R-MC falls to 7-9 on the season and takes its first conference loss to fall to 5-1 in ODAC play.
In the second half, Leonard broke up the scoreless tie off an unassisted goal to give Lynchburg College the 1-0 advantage.
LC scored its final tally in the 69th minute when Kelsey Link found Milks' to secure the 2-0 victory.
Lynchburg recorded 27 shots on goal to R-MC's three and led the Yellow Jackets 20-2 in penalty corners.
Yellow Jacket goalie Nicole Woodworth kept the Hornets from doing further damage by collecting 25 saves on the night. Woodworth has now tallied five games with 20+ saves this season.
Randolph-Macon Field Hockey will be back in action on October 20th against Shenandoah on Homecoming weekend. The match is set for an 11:00 a.m. start.
