Stanley Saves 19 for R-MC Field Hockey at CNU

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Junior Kelsey Stanley (Bumpass, Va./Louisa County) secured 19 saves off the bench as the Randolph-Macon field hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision Wednesday evening at No. 14 Christopher Newport.

Stanley played the final 57 minutes of the contest and allowed just two goals.

The Captains (5-0) scored twice in the first nine minutes and three in the first half. CNU added a final goal in the second half in the 64th minute of the game.

Freshman Lauren Petty (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester) had a pair of shots for the Yellow Jackets (1-5), with both coming in the second half.

Randolph-Macon kicks off ODAC action on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. at Roanoke.
