McDonagh Earns Medalist Honors at Glenn Heath Memorial

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Sophomore Matthew McDonagh (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) finished first out of 70 individuals and helped the Randolph-Macon men's golf team place fifth out of 13 schools Tuesday at the Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial at the Williamsburg Golf Club.

McDonagh shot 78 in Round 1 on Monday and sat in a tie for fifth before shooting even-par 72 in Round 2 on  a soggy Tuesday to finish on top with a total of 150. His 72 was the low round of the tournament.

Freshman Trey Razzetti (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) shot 169 (78-91), followed by sophomore Kirby Struhar (Sterling, Va./Park View) at 170 (80-90), sophomore Peter Shaner (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) at 170 (85-85), freshman Christian Fagan (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) at 177 (90-87) and senior Connor Jones (Harrisonburg, Va./Spotswood) at 180 (91-89).

Randolph-Macon returns to action this weekend at the Roanoke Invitational.
