Head Coach Ed Turnage and R-MC Men's Golf Finish Fourth at ODAC Championship

WINTERGREEN, Va. - The Randolph-Macon men's golf team finished in fourth place out of 11 teams Tuesday after the third and final round of the 2017 ODAC Championship on the Stoney Creek Golf Course.

The ODAC Championship concluded the 10-year run of Ed Turnage '64 as R-MC head men's golf coach. Turnage took over the program in the fall of 2007 and mentored numerous medalists and All-ODAC selections. He is retiring following the 2016-17 season.

The three teams ahead of R-MC were ranked in the Top 25 by Golfstat.com: No. 19 Guilford in first, No. 14 Washington & Lee in second and No. 24 Hampden-Sydney in third.

Junior Kirby Struhar (Sterling, Va./Park View) tied for 17th at 235 (74-79-82). Freshman Alex Nelson (Weems, Va./Lancaster) also tied for 17th at 235 (83-77-75), followed by junior Matthew McDonagh (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) at 240 (72-81-87), sophomore Trey Razzetti (Glen Allen, Va./Benedictine) at 253 (79-97-77) and freshman Tom Schaffer (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) at 255 (89-82-84).
