FERRUM, Va. – The Randolph-Macon Men's Lacrosse team picked up their fourth consecutive win following this afternoon's 12-9 victory over Ferrum.
Thirty seconds into regulation, Joseph Edwards scored the first goal (unassisted) of the day to give the Yellow Jackets (4-3) the early lead. The R-MC offense would continue that edge for the remainder of the period, as Ryan Davidson (Logan Township, NJ / Kingsway Regional) and Kyle Snodderly (Reistertown, MD / Franklin) each recorded a goal to give the Jackets the 3-0 lead.
Ferrum responded with two goals in the second period, but R-MC would tally another four goals by Davidson (2), Jason Andrews (Hereford, MD / Hereford) (1), and Justin Butler (Ocean City, MD / Worcester Prep) (1). Davidson's first goal of the period was assisted by Butler, while Snodderly assisted Butler's goal with 00:31 to go in the stanza, giving the Jackets the 7-2 tilt at intermission.
The Panthers would outscore R-MC five goals to two in the third period to cut the Jackets' edge to two. Andrews and Butler each picked up goals for the R-MC, securing the insurance going into the final quarter.
The Yellow Jackets were able to maintain their edge through the remainder of the game, outscoring FC three goals to two to bring home the 12-9 win. Andrews led the Jackets with four goals while Butler and Davidson recorded three. Goalkeeper Brian Davies (Lynchburg, VA / E.C. Glass) finished with eight saves.
The Randolph-Macon Men's Lacrosse team returns to action this Saturday, March 15 as they host Washington and Lee for a 4:00 pm ODAC matchup.
