Lacrosse Falls to Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team fell to 3-4 in the conference after dropping a 12-7 decision this evening against Lynchburg.

Jason Andrews (Hereford, MD / Hereford) recorded the first two goals for R-MC (7-7, 3-4) in the first period before the Hornets (11-4, 6-1) netted seven for the 7-1 edge. Andrews' second goal was assisted by Nick Benhoff (Phoenix, MD / Dulaney). Justin Butler (Ocean City, MD / Worcester Prep) opened the second stanza with the Jackets' third goal (unassisted) as goalkeeper Brian Davies (Lynchburg, VA / E.C. Glass) recorded two saves on three shots to go into intermission.

The Yellow Jackets would go on to record four additional goals in the second period ultimately falling 12-7. Goals were credited to Nolan Clark (Annapolis, MD / St. Mary's), Kyle Snodderly (Reistertown, MD / Franklin), Andrews, and Benhoff. R-MC's goals were assisted by Butler, Benhoff (2), and Sam Mayer (Severna Park, MD / Severna).

The Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team returns to action as they host Virginia Wesleyan April 23, for their final home match at 7:00pm on Day Field.
