R-MC Men's Lacrosse Falls to Methodist on the Road

FAYETVILLE, N.C. -  The R-MC men's lacrosse team fell to Methodist 14-9 on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Sam Mayer (Severna Park, Md./ Severna Park) led the Yellow Jackets with three assists and increased his season tally to 29, the best in the ODAC.

Junior Kyle Keepers (Roswell, Ga./ Roswell) scored the opening goal for the Yellow Jackets in the game. The Yellow Jackets and Monarchs were tied at 1-1 in the first period. 

Methodist would then take a 7-3 lead at half time with a 6-2 run in the second quarter.

R-MC would rally in the third quarter of the game with a 3-1 score in the period. Senior Tim Leavitt (Davidsonville, Md./ Archbishop Spalding) scored the first goal for the Yellow Jackets in the half. Mayer then set up freshman Davis Hitt (Annapolis, Md./ Annapolis) for the second and junior Miles Muncie (Midlothian, Va./ Midlothian) scored the third.

The Monarchs scored the first four goals of the fourth period and would improve to 9-2 overall with the win over R-MC.

Three Yellow Jackets finished with two goals with freshman Colin Disesa (Ashland, Va./ Hanover), Muncie and Keepers. Keepers has now scored 20 goals this season.

Senior defender David Cryster (Mechanicsville, Va./ Hanover) led the Yellow Jackets with two caused turnovers. Freshman Joe Maranto (Joppa, Md./ Fallston) led the team with six ground balls. 

R-MC (5-5) will be back in action on Saturday with a home ODAC game against Bridgewater at 1 p.m.
