With the results, R-MC finishes the season 31-7 and 14-6 in the ODAC. R-MC finished tied for second with Guilford in the regular standings, but will earn the #2 seed in the tournament due to the second step of the tiebreaker, after the Yellow Jackets split the series in Greensboro.

The Eagles then took a 2-1 lead in the third inning. R-MC responded with a two-run inning in the top of the fourth. Sophomore Savannah Wood (Tappahannock, Va./ Essex) singled to left field and Jones reached on an error before freshman Shelby Hill (Mechanicsville, Va./ St. Margaret's) sent both runners to home plate.

R-MC then added five runs in the sixth and seventh innings to secure the game.

In game two, Whittemore threw her seventh shutout of the season against the Eagles.

Freshman Maddie Stone (Glen Allen, Va./ Glen Allen) had a standout game, recording two hits, two runs and one rbi in the game. Stone scored the first run of the contest in the third inning. She reached base after hitting a single to left field, stole second and then scored on a wild pitch. Jones then earned another rbi as she hit a sacrifice fly, sending Hill to home for the second run of the game.

Stone scored for the second time in the fifth inning as Hill singled to the shortstop. Hill would also score her second run off of Wood's sacrifice fly, after stealing second and third base.

The Yellow Jackets tacked on three more runs in the sixth inning. Freshman Kayley Reese (Lake Mary, Fl./ Lake Mary) scored off of sophomore Casey Abernethy's (Prince George, Va./ Prince George) single to left field. Abernethy scored off of an error and sophomore Sarah Cimring (Chesapeake, Va./ Great Bridge) scored from a rbi from Stone.
