  • Randolph-Macon Up One Spot In NFCA Poll

    Randolph-Macon softball is up one spot in this week’s NFCA Division III Top 25 poll. Randolph-Macon marks the first change in this week’s poll, as the top 11 teams remained where they were last week, many of them having been idle of the last week.
  • Softball Wins Pair Of Extra Inning Walkoffs; Jones Hits Grand Slam

    #12 Randolph-Macon (13-1) walked off in extra innings twice in a pair of non-conference games against #23 Emory (6-4) Wednesday afternoon in chilly Ashland. Senior Harley Jones (Brodnax, Va. / Brunswick) hit her third home run of the season, a grand slam to end the day’s second game.
  • Wood Collects ODAC Honor

    Junior Savannah Wood (Tappahannock, Va. / Essex) was selected by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference as its Player of the Week for the week ending on March 12.

    The game between #13 Randolph-Macon and #23 Emory has been postponed from its original Tuesday, March 13 date due to snow in the Ashland area. Further details on a make-up date will be announced when available. 
  • Sanderford, Davidson Lead No. 13 R-MC Softball to Beach Blast Sweep

    Sophomore Taylor Sanderford (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) recorded two hits and three RBI in the first game, and sophomore Sami Davidson (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) had two hits, two runs and knocked in a pair as the 13th-ranked Randolph-Macon softball team posted two more wins in the Beach Blast to extend its win streak to 11.
  • Wood, Hurlers Lead #13 R-MC Softball to Pair of Shutout Wins

    Junior Savannah Wood (Tappahannock, Va./Essex) went 5 for 5 with five runs and four RBI, and three pitchers combined for 10 scoreless innings with two hits, no walks and 22 strikeouts as the 13th-ranked Randolph-Macon softball team posted a pair of shutouts at the Beach Blast.
  • Softball Moves Up to No. 13 in NFCA Division III Poll

    The Randolph-Macon softball team moved up three spots in this week’s National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 Poll to No. 13 after a weekend pair of wins over Frostburg State. Randolph-Macon was ranked No. 16 in last week’s poll and began the season just outside of the Top 25.
  • Weather Forecast Forces Softball Schedule Change

    Rain forecasts in the Fayetteville, N.C. area have forced a schedule change for the Randolph-Macon softball team. The doubleheader scheduled for tomorrow has been moved to Tuesday, March 20 at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
  • Whittemore Fans Career-High 14 as #16 R-MC Softball Sweeps FSU

    Junior Candace Whittemore (Montpelier, Va./Patrick Henry) tossed a two-hit shutout with a career-best 14 strikeouts in the opener as the 16th-ranked Randolph-Macon softball team swept a home doubleheader from Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon.

    Randolph-Macon Head Softball Coach Kevin Proffitt has announced details for summer camps with the Randolph-Macon softball program. Options for ages 5-18 are available throughout the summer, as are Day and Overnight options.
  • Softball Jumps Into National Poll

    After a hot start to the season, Randolph-Macon softball has jumped into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III National Top 25 poll at No. 16. The Yellow Jackets were receiving votes in the previous poll and were just four votes outside of the preseason Top 25.

    Senior Harley Jones (Brodnax, Va./Brunswick) homered and drove in four in the first game and sophomore Sami Davidson (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) went deep twice in Game 2 as the Randolph-Macon softball team extended its win streak to five with a pair of victories on Sunday afternoon.

  • Softball Splits With #14 Captains In Season Opener

    Randolph-Macon began its 2018 season Tuesday afternoon with a split with #14 Christopher Newport at Captains Park in Newport News. CNU won the first game 2-1 while Randolph-Macon captured the night cap by the same score.
  • Softball Primed for 2018 Season

    Randolph-Macon head softball coach Kevin Proffitt announced the 2018 softball schedule Friday. The team is coming off an impressive 2017 NCAA Division III Softball Tournament run that culminated in hosting an NCAA Tournament regional in Ashland. Last year’s team went 35-11, including a 14-6 mark in the ODAC. The 35 wins set a program record for most wins in a single season, eclipsing the old mark of 34 wins, set in 2013.
  • Softball Places Second In ODAC Poll

    Randolph-Macon’s softball program placed second in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s preseason poll, as voted on by the leagues’ head coaches and announced by the conference Thursday. In addition to the team’s 66 points, the Yellow Jackets also received one first place vote.

    Randolph-Macon’s softball program has received votes into the NFCA Division III Top 25 poll, released this week. R-MC is just outside of the Top 25, receiving 22 votes, the top vote-getter outside of the Top 25.
