Yellow Jackets Release 2014-15 Schedule
ASHLAND, Va. – The R-MC Tip-Off Tournament and an early game against last year’s regular season ODAC champs highlight the early part of the Yellow Jackets' 2014-15 schedule, released by Head Coach Carroll LaHaye.
The Yellow Jackets begin the season on the road with games against Ferrum (Nov. 15) and Marymount (Nov. 19) before coming back home for the R-MC Tip-Off Tournament sponsored by Riesbeck Contracting. The first day of the tournament (Nov. 21) features Randolph-Macon in the early game against Methodist, and Bridgewater vs. Stevenson in the late game. The following day, Methodist and Bridgewater have the first game and Randolph-Macon and Stevenson finish off the tournament.
Randolph-Macon begins conference play at Hollins on Nov. 25 before coming home for a game against the defending regular season ODAC champions Eastern Mennonite. After they break for exams, Division II Virginia Union comes to Crenshaw for a game on Dec. 14. The Yellow Jackets then head to the Virgin Islands to face Emerson and Nichols. Those two games will carry them into the holiday break as they get ready to continue their conference schedule.
After the break, the Yellow Jackets get right back on the road with their final non-conference game against Gallaudet (Jan. 3). The Yellow Jackets then head to Lynchburg to resume their conference schedule before travelling to Roanoke on Jan. 10. Following that the Yellow Jackets return for a two-game homestand against Virginia Wesleyan and Guilford for a rematch of last year’s ODAC Championship game (Jan. 13, Jan. 17) before hitting the road again for Bridgewater and Randolph (Jan. 20, Jan. 24).
The Yellow Jackets return to Crenshaw on Jan. 31 against Lynchburg for Back to the Hive. After a trip to Virginia Wesleyan (Feb. 3), they return home against Hollins for Camper Day on Feb. 7. The Yellow Jackets' final regular season game and Senior Day will be on Feb. 21 against Bridgewater.
The ODAC Tournament will be held Feb. 27 through March 1 at the Salem Civic Center. Last season the Yellow Jackets defeated Guilford in the ODAC Championship game, earning themselves an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
