HARRISONBURG, Va. – Sophomore Olivia Bowling (Charlotte Hall, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) claimed the individual title and helped the Randolph-Macon women's golf team claim the top spot in the Bridgewater Invitational at the Lakeview Golf Course.
Bowling improved by seven strokes in Round 2, firing a two-over 74 for a two-round total of 155. She tied first-round leader Elizabeth Cheng of Hollins and beat her in a tie-breaker. The Hole 10 score was used to break the tie, as Bowling recorded a par 4 and Cheng finished with a 5.
The Yellow Jackets recorded a team score of 695 to finish ahead of Bridgewater, Washington and Lee, Eastern Mennonite, Greensboro and Hollins.
Freshman Jenny Jeu (Midlothian, Va./James River) was 10th (86-88=174), sophomore Tracy Moriconi (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) was 11th (88-90=178), and junior Danielle Calhoun (Colonial Heights, Va./Colonial Heights) was 12th (91-89=180), followed by sophomore Becca Ream (York, Pa./York Country Day) (94-88=182) and freshman Katie Raymond (Rice, Va./Fuqua) (99-93=192).
