Bowling Tied for 11th at Jekyll Island

JEKYLL ISLAND, Va. - Senior Olivia Bowling (Charlotte Hall, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) helped the Randolph-Macon women's golf team sit in a tie for fifth out of 23 teams after the first round of the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate on Friday.

The No. 30 Yellow Jackets shot 314 and are ahead of 10 other ranked teams.

Bowling, who is ranked No. 21 in the Golfstat national rankings, shot a three-over 75 to stand tied for 11th out of 120 golfers. Freshman Liza Lewis (Richmond, Va./Trinity) shot 79, senior Tracy Moriconi (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) and senior Rebecca Ream (York, Pa./York Country Day) both shot 80 and freshman Mia Alan (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) fired an 83.

Round 2 of the three-round event will take place on Saturday, March 19.
