Bowling Tied for Lead after Round 1 of Max and Susan Stith Invitational

MONTPELIER, Va.—Senior Olivia Bowling (Charlotte Hall, Md. / St. Mary's) is tied for first out of 44 golfers after the first round of the Max and Susan Stith Invitational, hosted by the Randolph-Macon women's golf team, at the Hollows Golf Club.

Bowling, who is ranked No. 22 among Division III collegiate players, shot a three-over 75. Hope Giordano of Kutztown matched Bowling's score.

The Yellow Jackets, ranked No. 28 in the nation among Division III programs by GolfStat, finished the day second out of seven teams with a combined score of 320, just one stroke behind Methodist.

Four other R-MC players joined Bowling in the Top-10. Senior Rebecca Ream (York, Pa. / York) is tied for third while junior Katie Raymond (Rice, Va. / Fuqua) sits eighth at 79 and freshman Mia Alan (Virginia Beach, Va. / Kempsville) finished Round 1 tied for ninth with a score of 82.

Senior Tracy Moriconi (Richmond, Va. / St. Catherine's) finished the day 23rd with a score of 86, followed by freshman Liza Lewis (Richmond, Va. / Trinity) at 88.

Freshman Katelyn Jordan (Virginia Beach, Va. / Kellam) and Emmy Saathoff (Catonsville, Md. / Institute of Notre Dame) competed as individuals, recording scores of 105 and 121, respectively.

The final round of the Max and Susan Stith Invitational is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday.
