Lewis Named ODAC Rookie of the Year, Bowling is All-ODAC First Team for Fourth Time

FOREST, Va. – Freshman Liza Lewis (Richmond, Va./Trinity) was named ODAC Rookie of the Year and senior Olivia Bowling (Charlotte Hall, Md./St. Mary’s Ryken) earned All-ODAC First Team Honors for the fourth consecutive year as the conference announced its postseason awards.

Seniors Tracy Moriconi (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine’s) and Rebecca Ream (York, Pa./York Country Day) were voted All-ODAC Third Team.

Lewis averaged 88.4 through 13 rounds prior to the ODAC Championship. Her top three rounds came at the Jekyll Island Collegiate in March with rounds of 79, 81 and 81 for a total of 241. Lewis finished tied for 38th out of 120 individuals. After two rounds of the ODAC Championship, Lewis is tied for 12th at 177 (89-88).

Bowling is the first player to be a four-time All-ODAC First Team selection in the ODAC’s four-year history of the conference sport. Bowling averaged 78.1 in 15 rounds prior to the ODAC Championship. Bowling earned medalist honors out of 44 individuals at the Max and Susan Stith Invitational with a total of 148 (75-73). She finished third at the NYU Invitational in the fall and at the Methodist Invitational in early April. Bowling is ninth after two rounds of the ODAC Championship at 172 (87-85).

Ream was All-ODAC Third Team for the second consecutive season. She averaged 83.9 in 15 rounds prior to the ODAC Championship. Ream finished third out of 44 individuals at the Max and Susan Stith Invitational with a 154 (77-77). She was tied for eighth out of 48 at the Methodist Invitational at 176 (93-83). Ream has been named to the ODAC All-Academic Team. Ream is eighth after two rounds of the ODAC Championship at 171 (86-85).

Moriconi averaged 83.4 in 15 rounds prior to the ODAC Championship. She was sixth out of 48 individuals at the Methodist Invitational at 173 (80-93). Moriconi was 13th at the NYU Invitational at 159 (80-79) and 14th at the Max and Susan Stith Invitational at 164 (86-78). She is 11th after two rounds of the ODAC Championship at 176 (88-88). Moriconi has been named to the ODAC All-Academic Team and recently was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

The third and final round of the 2016 ODAC Championship will be held on Tuesday, April 26.
