FOREST, Va. – Randolph-Macon senior Olivia Bowling (Charlotte Hall, Md./St. Mary’s Ryken) has been named ODAC Player of the Week for women’s golf.
Bowling was the medalist out of 44 individuals at the Max and Susan Stith Invitational this past weekend at The Hollows Golf Course in Montpelier, Va. Bowling was tied for first after Round 1 with a three-over 75. She shot one-over 73 in Round 2, the low round of the two-day tournament. Bowling’s tourney score of 148 was four shots better than second-place Alessandra Bertacche of Marymount.
In the team standings, Bowling helped the Yellow Jackets finish second out of seven squads. R-MC shot 320 for the first round and 322 for the second round for a total of 642, eight shots behind winner Kutztown and one stroke ahead of third-place Methodist.
It is the second time Bowling was recognized as ODAC Player of the Week this season. She also received the honor on Oct. 19, 2015.
Bowling is second in the ODAC with a scoring average of 77.0 through 13 rounds.
Randolph-Macon returns to action April 9-10 at the Methodist Invitational in Fayetteville, N.C.
