R-MC Women's Golf Places Third at Stith Invitational

GLEN ALLEN, Va. - Junior Liza Lewis (Richmond, Va./Trinity) finished 13th in the individual standings and the Randolph-Macon women's golf team placed third on Monday in the Max and Susan Stith Invitational at The Dominion Club.

The event was originally scheduled for two full rounds on Sunday and Monday, but play was canceled on Sunday due to wet grounds. The invitational was condensed to 27 holes on Monday, a cold and windy day in central Virginia.

Lewis shot 89 in the first round of 18 holes and 45 in the final nine for a total of 134. Junior Emmy Saathoff (Catonsville, Md./Notre Dame) was one spot behind at 138 (91-47), followed by junior Mia Koch (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) at 140 (90-50), junior Katelyn Jordan (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) at 143 (95-48), senior Aven Oliver (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) at 146 (99-47) and sophomore Colleen Connolly (Winchester, Va./John Handley) at 149 (94-55).

Randolph-Macon will compete in the ODAC Championships April 22-24 at the Bryan Park Golf Club in Greensboro, N.C.
