Guilford Defeats Randolph-Macon Lacrosse 15-11
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Guilford's E'leyna Garcia had eight goals in Guilford College's 15-11 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over visiting Randolph-Macon College Saturday. The Yellow Jackets fall to 8-4 overall and 6-4 in the ODAC, while the Quakers improve to 10-1 and 6-0 in the conference.
Guilford scored the first four goals of the game, with its first coming just 10 seconds into play. Katie Russo put a stop to the Quakers' 4-0 lead with her first of five goals at the 9:41 mark, assisted by Jenelle Whitman.
The Quakers countered with another four goals and held an 8-2 advantage at the half.
The Yellow Jackets rallied late in the second half, scoring six goals in the last 9:20 of play, but the Quakers' seven second-half goals kept them ahead.
Russo led Randolph-Macon (8-2, 3-2 ODAC) in scoring with five goals. Jenelle Whitman and Natalie Schnell each added two. Whitman also tallied three assists. Rachel Johnsen, Emily Lynch and Whitman had four ground balls apiece.
Lily Colley had five goals for Guilford (10-1, 6-0 ODAC). Marina Bailey and Courtney Morsberger each scored one goal. Liza Mettler led the Quakers in ground balls (7). Colley added six and two assists. Becca Colley had four ground balls and one assist.
The Yellow Jackets return to action Wednesday, April 10th at ODAC-foe Virginia Wesleyan at 4:00 p.m.
