LYNCHBURG, Va. - Senior Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) recorded 12 assists and junior Mariah Clark (Stuarts Draft, Va./Riverheads) had 10 kills as the Randolph-Macon volleyball team posted a 3-0 ODAC win at Randolph on Saturday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets (9-3, 3-0 ODAC) won its fifth straight match, posting wins of 25-9, 25-13 and 25-11. The Wildcats fell to 4-8 overall, 1-2 in conference play.
R-MC held a slim 7-6 lead in Game 1 before scoring four straight for an 11-6 lead. The Yellow Jackets led 13-8 before scoring 12 of the final 13 points for a 25-9 victory.
The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the second game and built a 13-6 advantage. The margin grew to 21-9 before R-MC registered a 25-13 win.
R-MC sprinted to an 11-3 lead in Game 3 and coasted to a 25-11 victory.
Clark had 19 total attacks and hit percentage of .474. Senior Rebecca McGilvery (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) had seven kills, 12 total attacks and hit percentage of .583.
Freshman Emma Young (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) had seven assists, freshman Angela Tender (Manassas, Va./Stone Bridge) added six assists and sophomore Emily Steffan (Salem, Va./Salem) chipped in five.
Senior Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va./Peninsula Catholic) paced the victors with 11 digs, while Quinn and McGilvery both had six digs.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. at home against Marymount in Crenshaw Gym.
