ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Sophomore Colin Selby (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch), junior Cullen Moore (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) and junior Rick Spiers (South Chesterfield, Va./Matoaca) combined on a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts, and freshman Zach Evans (Fort Mill, S.C./Seneca) drove in four as the 11th-ranked Randolph-Macon baseball team posted a 13-1 victory at St. Mary's Tuesday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets (9-4) recorded a season-high 17 hits and matched their season best with 13 runs. Freshman Ryan Duphorn (Erial, N.J./Paul VI) and senior Stuart Brown (Midlothian, Va./Trinity) both had three hits, while sophomore Ian Pape (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) had three RBI for R-MC.

Selby (2-0) worked 5.0 innings with one hit and one run with five walks and six strikeouts in registering the win. He pitched four hitless frames before the Seahawks (5-5) had a leadoff double in the fifth. Moore struck out the side in the sixth. Spiers tossed three perfect innings and struck out the first six batters he faced in recording his second save. The 15 punchouts were a season high for R-MC pitchers in a game.

The Yellow Jackets started the scoring in the top of the first. Duphorn led off with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by sophomore Jeff Butler (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch), who reached first on an error. Spiers drove in Duphorn with a base hit to make it 1-0. Brown reached on a fielder's choice and knocked in Butler from third as the visitors took a 2-0 advantage.

R-MC added to its lead in the third. Brown had a one-out double and came home on a two-base hit by senior Blake Saathoff (Catonsville, Md./Archbishop Spalding). Saathoff advanced to third on a base hit by senior Jay Patti (Sparks, Md./Hereford) and scored on a fielder's choice by Pape, making it a 4-0 contest.

The Yellow Jackets exploded with five in the fourth. Spiers homered to lead off the frame, going deep for the first time this season, to extend R-MC's lead to 5-0. Pape drew a bases-loaded walk, Evans added a two-run single and Duphorn delivered an RBI double to push the advantage to 9-0.

After the Seahawks plated one in the fifth, R-MC added four in the seventh. Patti knocked in one on a fielder's choice, Pape had an RBI single, Evans added a sacrifice fly and Duphorn had a run-scoring base hit as the Yellow Jackets lead grew to 13-1.
