Randolph-Macon was highlighted as a "Best Liberal Arts College for Equestrians" by the Liberal Arts Colleges website. The website "promote[s] the value of a liberal arts degree to students, parents, and high school counselors, and give liberal arts schools the opportunity to highlight their unique characteristics," according to the website's founders.
The R-MC Eventing team has had an incredible year of team building, growth and improvement which culminated in the team competing at the United States Eventing Association’s Collegiate Team Championships this past weekend at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA.
Founded in 2010, Randolph-Macon College's equestrian program is growing by leaps and bounds, attracting student-riders from across the United States. To continue to grow and expand this outstanding program, the college recently purchased Coventry Farm.
The R-MC Equestrian team was named Reserve High Point team at the ODU hosted show on Oct. 29, the second consecutive time this season they have earned this spot. In addition, Eliza vanderWoude won a three-way tie to be named High Point Rider for the day.
R-MC’s IHSA Equestrian team was Reserve High Point at VCU this past weekend, finishing a mere three points behind powerhouse Sweet Briar College. Consistently great riding across all divisions resulted in this outstanding finish.
Both the R-MC IHSA team and the Eventing team had strong showings at their weekend events! The IHSA team was at the VCU hosted show and ended the day in third place overall. The Eventing team was in Purcellville, Va. at the Surefire Horse Trials with three riders competing on Saturday and Sunday.
