FOREST, Va. – Randolph-Macon senior Lamont Moore (Waverly, Va./Tidewater Academy) has been named the ODAC Player of the Week for men’s basketball.
Moore helped the Yellow Jackets record three wins at home this past week. He was named the Most Valuable Player in the R-MC Coaches Tournament sponsored by Kay Jewelers. Moore had 19 points and seven assists in an 84-61 victory over Bryn Athyn on Monday. Moore had his second double-double of the season on Tuesday in an 88-78 win over Wesley. He had 17 points and a career-best 14 rebounds.
The Yellow Jackets returned to ODAC play on Saturday against Guilford. Moore registered 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists in a 71-68 win over the Quakers.
During the three-game win streak, Moore averaged 18.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists. He shot 46% from the floor (17 for 37) and 73% from the free throw line (19 for 26).
R-MC is now 5-6 overall and 1-1 in the ODAC. The Yellow Jackets host Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday, January 6 at 7 p.m. in Crenshaw Gymnasium.
