There are three alums, including a pair of head coaches. And all five served as assistant coaches at R-MC.
Nathan Davis '97 is in his third season as head coach at Bucknell and he has had the Bison in the NCAA tourney in each of the past two seasons. One of his assistant coaches, Joe Meehan, was an assistant at R-MC with Davis from 2013-15. The 14th-seeded Bison open against third-seeded Michigan State on Friday, March 16 at 7:10 p.m. in Detroit.
Gregg Marshall '85 has been the head coach at Wichita State for the past 11 seasons after nine years as head coach at Winthrop. Marshall has an 11-13 overall record in NCAA tourney contests and guided the Shockers to the Final Four in 2013. Fourth-seeded Wichita State faces 13th-seeded Marshall on Friday, March 16 at 1:30 p.m. in San Diego.
Jamal Brunt '03 in an assistant coach with the Miami Hurricanes. Brunt was an assistant at R-MC for two seasons following graduation. The sixth-seeded Hurricanes meet No. 11 Loyola-Chicago on Thursday, March 15 at 3:10 p.m. in Dallas.
Jeff Reynolds is Director of Scouting/Game Management at Virginia Tech. He was an assistant coach at R-MC from 1982-85. The eighth-seeded Hokies play No. 9 Alabama on Thursday, March 15 at 9:20 p.m. in Pittsburgh.
