WINCHESTER, VA – Randolph-Macon Men's Golf went into the final round of the Shenandoah Invitational as the leader and improved its score from the previous day to run away with the tournament held at Winchester Country Club.
R-MC shot 305-304—609 to win by 31 strokes over the Apprentice School. The Yellow Jackets got a strong individual performance from Scott Hellmuth who was second overall, carding a 74-75—149 during the two day event. Hellmuth finished just one shot off the lead as John Dozier of Virginia Wesleyan scored a 148 to take medalist honors.
The Jackets had its four scorers all finish in the top-eight. Robert Saltzer was fifth overall with a 78-75—153, reigning ODAC Rookie of the Year Kyle Fuller shot a 156 to place seventh, while Hunter Weaver's 76-83—159 was good for eighth overall.
R-MC will be back in action on September 16th when it takes part in the Tom Kinder Invitational, hosted by Bridgewater College.
