Randolph-Macon Uses Final Round Push to Take Second at ODAC Championship

CAPE CHARLES, VA – Randolph-Macon Men's Golf improved by 27 strokes in the final round to take second place in the ODAC Men's Golf Championship Tuesday. Hunter Weaver finished third individually after shooting a 74 to lead three Yellow Jackets' who finished in the top ten.

R-MC shot a team score of 297 (+9) in the third round to bring their tournament total to 914. The final round performance moved the Yellow Jackets from fourth overall to second, finishing 23 strokes behind tournament champion Guilford and 13 shots ahead of third place Hampden-Sydney.

Weaver continued his solid play with a third round 74 (+2) which moved him to 14 over for the tournament. The senior finished third individually with a tournament total of 230, just six shots off the leader. With the third place finish, Weaver was named to the All-Tournament team.

Kyle Fuller rebounded on Tuesday to also shoot a 74 (+2) and finish tied for seventh overall. The First Team All-ODAC selection shot a three day score of 235.

Bobby Bradshaw saved his best performance for the final round as well, posting a 77 (+5) to tie for tenth with a tournament total of 238.

Kyle Jeans carded a 78 third round score to tie for 19th in the field of 50 competitors.

Senior Scott Helmuth was the biggest mover for the Yellow Jackets in the final round, improving his score by 20 strokes from the second round to shoot an even par 72 and move into a 21st place tie.
