Fuller Tied for Fifth at Ted Keller Memorial

ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Kyle Fuller (Richmond, Va./Deep Run) is tied for fifth out of 74 golfers after the first round of the Ted Keller Memorial Invitational, played Monday at the Hanover Country Club.

Fuller fired a one-over 71 on the 6,478-yard course and trails leader Brandon Bailey of Ferrum by five strokes.

The Yellow Jackets have two squads in the 15-team field. The Gold team is seventh, while the Black squad sits in ninth, four shots behind their teammates.

Fuller topped the Gold team, followed by freshman Kirby Struhar (Sterling, Va./Park View) at 75, senior Wes Bourdon (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) at 80, senior Bobby Bradshaw (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) at 82 and freshman Peter Shaner (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge Country) at 84.

Junior Connor Jones (Harrisonburg, Va./Spotswood) paced the Black squad with a 73 and was tied for 10th. Freshman Nick Stottlemyer (Port Tobacco, Md./McDonough) was tied for 13th and one shot behind Jones at 74, followed by sophomore Adam Tuttle (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) at 78, freshman Channing Allen (Chesapeake, Va./Deep Creek) at 87 and freshman Matt McDonagh (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) at 89.

The second and final round will be a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. at the Hanover Country Club.
