CONOVER, N.C. – The Randolph-Macon men's golf team finished third out of 10 teams at the 2015 ODAC Men's Golf Championship at Rock Barn Golf & Spa.
The first round was scheduled for Sunday, April 19, but was washed out. Round 1 on Monday was suspended and was completed on Tuesday. The second and final round was also played on Tuesday.
The Yellow Jackets were sixth after the first round with a score of 314. R-MC improved by 24 strokes in Round 2 with 290, the second-best score of the round.
Senior Kyle Fuller (Richmond, Va./Deep Run) was sixth out of 50 golfers in the individual standings. He shot 74 in the first round and 73 in the second for a total of 147. Freshman Matt McDonagh (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) was one place behind in seventh at 148 (76-72). His second-round score of 72 match his best round of the season.
Senior Wes Bourdon (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) shot 154 (82-72), followed by freshman Kirby Struhar (Sterling, Va./Park View) at 159 (86-73) and senior Bobby Bradshaw (82-77—159). Struhar improved by 13 shots from Round 1 to Round 2, the top mark in the tournament. Bourdon improved by 10 strokes, the third-best mark.
