McDonagh Places Ninth at VSGA

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Randolph-Macon sophomore Matthew McDonagh (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) finished in a tie for ninth out of 60 golfers at the VSGA State Intercollegiate Tuesday at Heritage Oaks.

The Yellow Jackets finished seventh out of 12 teams.

McDonagh shot 75 on Tuesday after a first-round 70 for a total of 145.

Freshman Trey Razzetti (Glen Allen, Va./Benedictine) shot 148 (73-75) to finish in a tie for 22nd, followed by sophomore Peter Shaner (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) at 149 (73-76), sophomore Kirby Struhar (Sterling, Va./Park View) at 150 (77-73) and sophomore Nick Stottlemyer (Port Tobacco, Md./McDonough) at 158 (80-78).

Randolph-Macon will host the Ted Keller Memorial Invitational Oct. 12 & 13 at the Hanover Country Club in Ashland, Va.
