As a junior (Fall ’16):  McDonagh played in three events totaling six rounds during the Fall season for the Yellow Jackets... McDonagh played in the Tom Kinder Memorial, Shenandoah Invitational, and the Ted Keller Memorial tournaments... In the Tom Kinder Memorial McDonagh shot a team low round of 73 en route to a team low of +5 of combined rounds for the tournament.

As a sophomore (2015-’16):  Played in eight events totaling 17 rounds on the season... McDonagh finished first in the Glenn Heath Memorial tournament in April shooting +6 over two rounds of play... Two of his lowest rounds of 70 and 72 came in the Yellow Jackets home event, the Ted Keller Memorial tournament, where he finished second with an overall score of +2... McDonagh had two more top ten finishes where he tied for fifth in the Ronoake Invitational and tied for ninth in the VSGA Intercollegiate tournament.

As a freshman (2014-15): Matthew played in six events, totaling 13 rounds in his first season with the Yellow Jackets...He played in the Ted Keller Memorial Invitational, Bermuda Men's Collegiate, Camp LeJeune Intercollegiate, Ronoake College Invitational, Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial and the ODAC Tournament...He set his season-low (72) in the second round of the Camp LeJeune Intercollegiate (3/29/2015) and matched it in the second round of the ODAC Tournament where he finished seventh overall.

Personal: Matthew attended Mount Tabor High School where he lettered all four years in golf...He was the Runner-Up Central Piedmont Conference Player of the Year (2014)...Matthew intends to major in business/economics.
