Childers, Fagan Tied for 11th after Round 1 of Ted Keller Memorial

ASHLAND, Va. - Juniors Chase Childers (Issue, Md./La Plata) and Christian Fagan (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) sit in a tie for 11th out of 68 individuals for the Randolph-Macon men's golf team after the first round of the Ted Keller Invitational at the Hanover Country Club.

The Yellow Jackets are tied for eighth out of 12 clubs in the team standings.

Childers and Fagan shot 76 to pace R-MC. Freshman Grant Burchette (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra) was one shot back at 77 for the Yellow Jackets, followed by sophomore Alex Nelson (Weems, Va./Lancaster) at 80, senior Kirby Struhar (Sterling, Va./Park View) and Peter Shaner (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) at 82, sophomore Tom Schaffer (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) at 84.

The second and final round will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 10, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
