
FRONT ROYAL, Va. - Junior Alex Nelson (Weems, Va./Lancaster) finished third out of 83 individuals, helping the Randolph-Macon men's golf team to place third out of 16 teams Monday at the Greene Turtle Invitational at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.
How It Happened
- The event was originally scheduled for 36 holes, but Sunday's first round was washed out.
- The Yellow Jackets finished one shot out of second and five strokes behind leader Guilford.
- Nelson shot 2-under 68 to sit in third, one shot behind co-leaders Josh Hill of Guilford and AJ Stouffer of Bridgewater.
- Senior Trey Razzetti (Glen Allen, Va./Benedictine) tied for 9th at 71 (+1)
- Senior Chase Childers (Issue, Md./La Plata) tied for 18th at 72 (+2)
- Freshman Ryan Fernandez (Selangor, Malaysia) tied for 41st at 75 (+5)
- Junior Tom Schaffer (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) tied for 63rd at 79 (+9)
