VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Junior Ryan Davidson (Logan Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional) recorded a pair of goals as the Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team dropped an 11-7 ODAC decision at Virginia Wesleyan.
Senior Nolan Clark (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's) scored the lone goal of the first quarter as the Yellow Jackets (3-7, 0-2) led 1-0. After a goal by the Marlins (4-3, 2-0) early in the second period, junior Matt DeBiasse (Long Hill, N.J./Watchung Hills) scored with 10 minutes remaining until halftime as R-MC took a 2-1 advantage. VWC added a goal with 1:42 left and the game was tied at 2-2 at halftime.
The Marlins scored the first three goals of the third quarter to take a 5-2 lead. Freshman Coleman Adams (Mechanicsville, Va./St. Christopher's) scored with 39 seconds left in the period as R-MC trailed 5-3 heading to the fourth.
VWC tallied the first four goals of the final period to take a 9-3 advantage. R-MC scored four of the final six goals of the game, with Davidson netting two, but came up short at 11-7.
Junior Brian Davies (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) recorded 11 saves for the Yellow Jackets.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Saturday, March 28 with a 6 p.m. ODAC contest at Randolph.
