ASHLAND, Va. – The R-MC men's lacrosse team fell to Lynchburg 19-7 on Saturday afternoon. Junior Miles Muncie (Midlothian, Va./ Midlothian) led the Yellow Jackets in points, scoring twice and adding one assist.
Lynchburg led 2-0 before junior Coleman Adams (Mechanicsville, Va./ St. Christopher's) scored his first goal of the season having returned to the playing field from an injury.
In the second period, junior Kyle Keepers (Rowell, Ga./ Roswell) scored his first of two goals on the day.
R-MC were able to outscore the Hornets 5-2 in the final period of the game. Muncie set up junior Alex Camilliere (Huntingtown, Md./ Huntingtown) for the first goal. Keepers then scored his second of the game and 23rd goal of the season. Muncie then scored two goals, one assisted by senior Sam Mayer (Severna Park, Md./ Severna Park), who leads the team in assists with 32. Also scoring was sophomore Lee Pratt (Winston-Salem, N.C./ Ronald Reagan).
Mayer, Muncie and Adams all led the team with three ground balls each, while Muncie, Adams and Camilliere all had one caused turnover.
The Yellow Jackets (6-6, 3-2 ODAC) will return to Day Field on Wednesday, April 12 for a home game against Ferrum at 4 p.m.
