HARRISONBURG, Va. – Junior Jack Maxey (Salem, Va. / Salem) scored in the 35th minute as the Randolph-Macon men's soccer team dropped a 4-1 ODAC decision to Eastern Mennonite Wednesday evening.
Maxey scored the first goal of the game for the Yellow Jackets (8-7, 4-4 ODAC ). The Royals (4-10, 2-4-2 ODAC) scored three minutes later to tie the score at 1-1. The score remained tied at the end of the first period. Eastern Mennonite added three goals in the second period to claim the 4-1 victory.
The Yellow Jackets held an 18-13 advantage in shots. Sophomore Bryan Lutz (Fairfax, Va. / W.T. Woodson) and Maxey led R-MC with four shots. Freshman Brad Robertson (Mechanicsville, Va. / Atlee) added three shots.
Freshman goalkeeper Brian Breslin (Fairfax, Va. / W.T. Woodson) registered four saves.
The game was originally scheduled to start at 7 p.m. but due to transportation problems for R-MC, the game was delayed for nearly 90 minutes.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on the road on Saturday, Oct. 24 against Hampden-Sydney. The time of the game has been moved up to 3 p.m.
