KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Seniors Bryan Lutz (Fairfax, Va./W.T. Woodson) and Jacob McHugh (Aberdeen, Md. / West Nottingham Academy) as well as sophomore Anthony Astruc (Glen Allen, Va. / Benedictine) have been honored by the United Soccer Coaches by being named to the organization's All-South Atlantic Region Third Team. It's the first time any of the three are being honored by the United Soccer Coaches on a regional level.

Lutz completes the 2017 season as the top goal-scorer on the team with eight goals. He added three assists to total 19 points. Lutz finished with the third-most goals in the conference as well as the fourth-most points. Four of his goals were game winners, including a double-overtime header to beat Catholic on September 20 – a match that was two minutes away from being declared a tie. Lutz leaves R-MC with 19 goals scored and seven assists to total 45 points. Lutz's 19 goals are the most by any R-MC player since 2004. Lutz was also named to the All-ODAC First Team and was named to the COSIDA All-District team, recognizing his accomplishments in the classroom.

McHugh exits R-MC having had his best year ever, at least offensively. He scored seven goals and two assists to total 16 points from his right back position. In his main role as defender though, he was a force, requiring opponents to adjust to his playing style – aggressive to the ball and able to serve the ball deep into the attacking third. He converted two penalty kicks this year – the only two opportunities for Randolph-Macon this season. He finishes his career with 11 goals and six assists to total 28 points.  He was part of a defense that recorded ten clean sheets and only allowed a 0.75 goals against average all season – placing second best in the ODAC. McHugh was also named to the All-ODAC Third Team.

Astruc finishes the season with four goals and three assists to total 11 points.  His assist effort ranks in the Top 20 in the ODAC, while his number of goals scored ranks in the Top 25. More than that, Astruc's work across the middle and into the attacking third proved to allow Randolph-Macon to gain plenty of chances to score throughout the season. Astruc was also named to the All-ODAC First Team.
