Randolph-Macon started its men's swim team in the 1960's and enjoyed a high level of success in the former alumni pool (a four-lane 20-yard pool). The participation of the men's team was suspended in 1973. Randolph-Macon added men's swimming as the 16th varsity sport on campus in the fall of 2010, becoming just the fourth Division III men's swimming program in the state of Virginia. R-MC men's swimmers benefited from training and racing with an experienced and proven women's team and coaching staff.
With a strong first class featuring swimmers with experience and success at prestigious meets such as USA Sectionals, Eastern Zones, YMCA Nationals, and high school state meets, the team broke every record and established a new tradition of excellence that characterizes Randolph-Macon Swimming. The second and third seasons saw R-MC further establish itself as a strong Division III team by bettering eight more varsity records. The Yellow Jacket men have competed in the Bluegrass Mountain Conference and have experienced 10 individual Top 16 finishes in one of the most competitive conferences in the country. For the past four years, men's swimming has been competing in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).
With a great foundation of competitive swimmers, the Yellow Jackets are sure to only become stronger each season.
