R-MC Races Past Randolph, 9-0 for Third Straight Conference Win

LYNCHBURG, Va--- Randolph-Macon earned its third straight ODAC victory after topping Randolph, 9-0 Thursday evening.  The Yellow Jackets improved to 7-7 overall, 4-4 in the ODAC, while the WildCats dropped to 4-11 on the season, 1-7 in the conference.

Mederick Ceril won his 13th straight contest, 6-1, 6-0 to improve to 8-0 in ODAC play in No. 1 singles action. 

Chandler Weston topped Jason Corsbie, 6-0, 6-4 in No. 2 singles and Connor Hoerr picked up the win in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-1.

Ira Usry blanked Shaun Chopp, 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 4 spot to earn his fifth straight singles win. 

Frank Donnelly battled past Zach Dales, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0, 10-7 in No. 5 singles action.  Joe Cox rounded out the perfect day in singles play with a win in the No. 6 spot.

Ceril and Weston partnered to earn an 8-2 victory in No. 1 doubles, while Usry and Hoerr cruised to an 8-2 win in No. 2 doubles.  Cox and Donelly closed the day with an 8-3 win over Hartzel Gillespie and Zach Dales in No. 3 doubles play.

The Yellow Jackets close the regular season out Monday, April 16th when they travel to ODAC rival Hampden-Sydney.  The match is scheduled for a  4:00 p.m. start.
