Men's Tennis Picked Sixth in ODAC Preseason Poll

FOREST, Va. – With the 2017 men’s tennis season about to start, the ODAC released the 2017 Preseason Poll, voted on by the ODAC coaches. R-MC were voted to sixth place in the ODAC with 53 points.

The 2016 season saw the Yellow Jackets finish with a 12-5 overall record and 6-4 ODAC record. R-MC finished in fourth place in the ODAC and reached the semifinals of the conference tournament.

Leading the team for the Yellow Jackets will be the senior class of Pablo Bordas (Caracas, Venezuela/ Briar Woods), Alex Burinsky (Catonsville, Md./ Catonsville), PJ Costello (Virginia Beach, Va./ Cox), Alex Curnow (Culpeper, Va./ Midlothian), Stuart McCroskey (Newport News, Va./ Menchville) and Phillip Terrono (Richmond, Va./ Deep Run).

R-MC also returns junior Baxter Carter (St. Christopher’s) and sophomore Jacob Haines (Springfield, Va./ West Springfield). The Yellow Jackets bring in a strong recruiting class, led by freshman Grant Sarver (Richmond, Va./ Godwin). 

The R-MC tennis team will open the season up on February 25th with a home match against St. Mary’s.
