Sarver, Moulton Lead R-MC Men’s Tennis to Win at SMC

ST. MARY'S, Md. – Sophomore Grant Sarver (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) and freshman Erik Moulton (Yorktown, Va./York) both recorded wins in doubles as well as in singles as the Randolph-Macon men's tennis team opened its spring schedule with a 6-3 victory at St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon.

Sarver and Moulton teamed to post an 8-0 win at No. 2 Doubles. The Seahawks would capture No. 1 and No. 3 Doubles to take a 2-1 lead into singles.

The Yellow Jackets dominated in singles, recording straight-set victories from No. 2 to No. 6. Sarver won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 Singles, while Moulton won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 Singles.

Freshman Alex Hein (Windermere, Fla./Windermere Prep) registered a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 Singles. Senior Baxter Carter (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's) was victorious at No. 4 Singles, 6-1, 6-3. At No. 6 Singles, junior Shane Berry (Midlothian, Va./James River) made quick work of his opponent at 6-0, 6-0.

Randolph-Macon opens ODAC play on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 4 p.m. at Washington and Lee.
