LYNCHBURG, Va. – Randolph-Macon Men's Tennis had the recipe to tame the Randolph WildCats Saturday as the Yellow Jackets won 8-1.

Randolph-Macon (7-4, 3-2 ODAC) won all three doubles matches of the day.

In the #1 Doubles position, senior Baxter Carter (Richmond, Va. / St. Christopher's School) and freshman Alex Hein (Windermere, Fla. / Windermere Preparatory School) had the closest doubles match of the afternoon, but overcame Randolph's (2-10,  1-7 ODAC) #1 Doubles crew of Bradley Strober and Joe Kaneda 8-5.

#2 Doubles team of sophomore Grant Sarver (Richmond, Va. / Mills Godwin) and freshman Erik Moulton (Yorktown, Va. / York) defeated Randolph's Ben Roberts and John Coffron, not ceding a single game to the WildCats, winning 8-0.

#3 Doubles team of junior Jacob Haines (Springfield, Va. / West Springfield) and sophomore Jack Aprahamian (Richmond, Va. / Trinity) won their match by default as well.

R-MC also took five of six singles matches, including one by default. In #6 singles, Carter won as there was not a Randolph competitor for him to face.

The only loss for R-MC came in #1 singles. Strober was able to top Haines 6-3, 2-6 and then getting the 10-7 victory in a ten-point set.

But through the rest of R-MC singles competition, R-MC dominated.

In #2 singles, Sarver defeated Kaneda 6-2, 6-1. The R-MC #3, Hein, won 6-0, 6-0, sweeping the WildCats' Caffron.

R-MC also got wins at #4 and #5 singles as well as Moulton defeated Roberts 6-1, 6-0 and Aprahamian defeated Minh Hoang 6-0, 6-0.

Randolph-Macon will face Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday at 4:00 PM in Virginia Beach.
