  • ITA Names Women’s Tennis All-Academic; Men’s Aud Scholar Athlete

    Randolph-Macon Women’s Tennis was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team. The ITA also named six Yellow Jackets as All-Academic Scholar Athletes. The six women were joined by Men’s Tennis rising sophomore Ryan Aud (Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial), who was named a All-Academic Scholar Athlete as well.

    Randolph-Macon Men’s Tennis junior Grant Sarver (Richmond, Va. / Mills Godwin) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week in Men’s Tennis. The recognition follows a week where the junior defeated regionally-ranked Harry Shepherd from W&L at No. 1 Singles on Saturday. It’s believed to be the first individual win for a Yellow Jacket against a regionally-ranked opponent in at least 12 years.

    Junior Grant Sarver (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) won at No. 1 Singles over Harry Shepherd, ranked No. 12 regionally in individuals, as the Randolph-Macon men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 ODAC decision on Saturday afternoon to Washington and Lee, ranked No. 15 in the region.

The Yellow Jackets took to the courts after a slew of cancelations and postponements from poor weather early on this season.

    ASHLAND, Va. -- Men's Tennis will no longer play its match against Washington and Lee on Thursday, March 21. The match has been postponed because of rain forecasts in Ashland on Thursday. A makeup date is TBD.  That means the men will next take the court on Saturday against Roanoke College in Salem. The match begins at 1:00 PM.

    Due to rain moving through Ashland early afternoon, Men's and Women's Tennis is now canceled against Centre on Monday afternoon at the Banks Tennis Center. The match will not be made up.

    Randolph-Macon Men’s Tennis got six straight wins in singles play Sunday afternoon as the Yellow Jackets defeated the Emory & Henry Wasps 6-0. The teams did not play double competition due to poor court conditions.

    In the annual survey of Old Dominion Athletic Conference head coaches, Randolph-Macon was picked to finish sixth in the conference in 2019. The selection at sixth represents a one spot jump for the Yellow Jackets, who were picked seventh in 2018. That’s also where the team finished the 2018 season.
  • Men’s Tennis Releases 2019 Schedule

    As Randolph-Macon Men’s Tennis awaits warmer weather to hit the court, the team can now study the calendar and its opponents. Director of Tennis Charles Gray released the 2019 Men’s Tennis Schedule Thursday. The schedule includes three non-conference matches and 11 conference matches.
