ASHLAND, Va. -- Randolph-Macon softball has been seeded sixth in the upcoming Division III National Championship series in Tyler, Texas. Randolph-Macon has been paired with the third-seeded Emory Eagles. Emory was ranked 18th in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll. Randolph-Macon and Emory will square off at 7:30 PM Eastern Time (6:30 PM Local (Texas/Central) Time) on Thursday, May 23.
The Yellow Jacket Club will sponsor a Send-Off rally tomorrow (Tuesday, May 21) beginning at 2:30 PM. Join Yellow Jacket alumni, families and fans as they cheer on the softball team on their way to catch the flight to Texas. The rally will take place at the Frank E. Brown Fountain Plaza. The Jacket Walk will take place at 3:00 PM.
Fans will be able to watch the game and view live stats for the game against Emory HERE beginning at the time of the contest.
Emory visited Ashland last season. The Yellow Jackets won both games in extra innings. Both teams were ranked in the NFCA Top 25 at the time. Emory is the only squad in the National Championship field that R-MC has ever met before.
