Coach Albaugh and Olivia Bowling Earn Inaugural ODAC Women’s Golf Awards

CAPE CHARLES, VA – Randolph-Macon Women's Golf freshman Olivia Bowling was named ODAC Rookie of the Year as the conference announced its inaugural Women's Golf awards Tuesday Afternoon. Head Coach Leighann Albaugh was tabbed as the ODAC Coach of the Year.

Bowling, a freshman from Charlotte Hall, MD, saved her best performance for last as she claimed ODAC individual medalist honors with rounds of 87 and 79 (166) to win the conference tournament by four strokes over HU's Elizabeth Cheng and Shelby Estes.  Bowling had a pair of top-five finishes, adding a fifth place showing at the Generals' Invitational to her ODAC finish.  She placed second in the conference with an 84.6 per round average and also takes home First Team All-ODAC honors.

Albaugh, in her first full season at Randolph-Macon, guided the Yellow Jackets as a first year program to the team title in the conference championships, topping Hollins by 10 strokes (719-729).  Her team placed in the top five three times, including third at the Generals Invitational and fourth at the Methodist Spring Invitational.
