Bowling Wins Individual Title at NYU Invitational

SUFFERN, N.Y. – Randolph-Macon junior Olivia Bowling (Charlotte Hall, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) shot a two-under 70 in the final round on Sunday to take medalist honors out of 63 golfers at the NYU Invitational.

In their first tournament of the fall, the Yellow Jackets finished fourth out of 12 teams. R-MC improved by five strokes in the second round (333-328—661). Host NYU took first at 620.

Bowling fired an even-par 72 on Saturday before Sunday's 70 to finish the tournament at two-under 142. She was four shots better than second-place Michelle Peng of Middlebury.

Junior Rebecca Ream (York, Pa./York Country Day) finished 20th at 166 (82-84), followed by sophomore Katie Raymond (Rice, Va./Fuqua) at 176 (87-89), sophomore Jenny Jeu (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) at 177 (92-85) and senior Danielle Calhoun (Colonial Heights, Va./Colonial Heights) at 184 (95-89).

The Yellow Jackets continue their fall slate this weekend at the Chesapeake Bay Invitational at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Md.
