ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon senior Olivia Bowling (Charlotte Hall, Md./St. Mary’s Ryken) earned All-East Region honors as the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced its 2015-16 student-athlete and coaches awards for Division III Women’s Collegiate Golf.
Bowling became the first player to be a four-time All-ODAC First Team selection in the ODAC’s four-year history of the conference sport. Bowling led the Yellow Jackets and was fifth in the ODAC with an average score of 79.1 in 18 rounds. Bowling earned medalist honors out of 44 individuals at the Max and Susan Stith Invitational with a total of 148 (75-73). She finished third at the NYU Invitational in the fall and at the Methodist Invitational in early April. Bowling finished seventh out of 23 individuals at the ODAC Championship in April. She lowered her score each round, shooting 81 in Round 3 after 87 in Round 1 and 85 in Round 2. Bowling was twice named ODAC Player of the Week this past year.
In her first two years at R-MC, Bowling was ODAC Player of the Year and ODAC Tournament Individual Champion. She was also ODAC Rookie of the Year as a freshman. During her four-year career, Bowling was ODAC Player of the Week seven times.
