R-MC Women's Golf Battles Nationally-Ranked Programs at Jekyll Island

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - Junior Emmy Saathoff (Catonsville, Md./Notre Dame) paced the Randolph-Macon women's golf team Friday during the first round of the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Jekyll Island Golf Club.

There were 16 ranked teams among the field of 23.

Saathoff fired an 88 to tie for 86th out of 120 individuals. She carded one birdie and seven pars during the round. Junior Mia Koch (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) also had one birdie and seven pars in her round of 89. Junior Liza Lewis (Richmond, Va./Trinity) and sophomore Colleen Connolly (Winchester, Va./John Handley) both shot 91, followed by senior Aven Oliver (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) at 92.

The second of the three rounds will be played on Saturday.
