BUENA VISTA, Va. – Senior Mia Koch (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) took second out of 31 individuals and helped the Randolph-Macon women's golf team finish second in the team standings at the Knights Invitational Thursday at the Vista Links Golf Club.
The Yellow Jackets were one stroke behind first-place Bridgewater.
Koch shot 10-over 82 to finish second, one shot behind medalist Amanda Kelley of Bridgewater. Koch had 10 pars during her round, the highest number for any individual. She had four straight pars to close out the front nine and six of the final seven holes on the back nine.
Senior Emmy Saathoff (Catonsville, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) placed fourth with a round of 86. She recorded seven pars, including five on the back nine.
Senior Liza Lewis (Richmond, Va./Trinity) finished tied for eighth at 89. She carded eight pars, including five on the front nine.
Junior Colleen Connelly (Winchester, Va./John Handley) shot 94. She recorded seven pars during her round, including four straight on the front nine.
Sophomore Elizabeth Magee rounded out the R-MC quintet with a round of 126.
The Yellow Jackets will host the Randolph-Macon College Women's Golf Fall Invitational on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Belmont Golf Course in Richmond, Va.
