GLEN ALLEN, Va. - Senior Emmy Saathoff (Catonsville, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) finished in a tie for sixth out of 24 individuals to help the Randolph-Macon women's golf team take third out of five teams after the second and final round of the Max and Susan Stith Invitational on Monday at The Dominion Club.
"We had a great venue at The Dominion Club," said R-MC head coach Jill Briles-Hinton. "The greens were fantastic and the course was in great shape. We appreciate their hospitality."
Saathoff finished at 172 (84-88). She birdied the par-4 seventh hole for the second straight day. Saathoff also recorded five pars in the second round.
Senior Liza Lewis (Richmond, Va./Trinity) took eighth at 173 (88-85). She recorded 10 pars on Day 2.
Junior Colleen Connolly (Winchester, Va./John Handley) improved by seven strokes and tied for ninth at 175 (91-84). She had eight pars on Monday.
Sophomore Elizabeth Magee (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) improved by 14 strokes and finished at 246 (130-116).
"The girls are great to coach," Briles-Hinton said. "We enjoy working together to improve their game."
Randolph-Macon will compete in the Eagle Invitational on March 30-31 in Fredericksburg, Va.
