  • Women’s Lacrosse Explodes In First Half To Frustrate Ferrum

    Randolph-Macon Women’s Lacrosse scored 14 goals in the first half while, while the Yellow Jacket defense allowed just two goals as R-MC frustrated the Ferrum Panthers Saturday afternoon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match. Three Yellow Jackets scored three goals in the win.

Senior Lexi Jones (Chestertown, Md. / Kent County), junior Mary Castle (Annapolis, Md. / Annapolis) and sophomores Kaylyn Hewes (Linthicum, Md. / North County) and Bella Samper (Spring, Texas / Klein Oak) and all had a hand in pushing the Yellow Jackets ahead in the important spurt.

    Sophomore attack Erin Mattone (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) had the final two goals of the game for the Yellow Jackets, and senior midfielder Hannah Jones (Chestertown, Md./Kent County) had 11 draw controls, including the final one of the contest, as R-MC rallied to edge Roanoke 16-15 in ODAC action on Saturday afternoon on Day Field.
